Boxing career is over, before it started

Woke up to sub freezing temperatures and Indie’s frozen water bowl and knew it was time to move again, so off I went to Lava Hot Springs. I have been battling an issue with vision on my left eye for the last few days so I figured I would stop in Pocatello to see if someone could look at it. Dr Jones had a 2:15 PM opening. I found out I have a torn retina, holy shit. He said if you had let it go likely it would become a detached retina, really holy shit and that would require surgery. I torn retina requires an in-office laser procedure. So tomorrow at 8am I go under the big bad laser.

So after the dilated my eyes and shined what I felt were the brightest lights I have seen I headed 20 miles down the road to Lava Hot Springs. It took awhile to find a place, but eventually came across a KOA were I’m the only person, and it’s next to the river. I met a family that was staying at some nearby cabin and wanted a tour of the trailer, I obliged. This was the second tour today, the other was in a park in Pocatello. I should get an open house sign. Their nine year old daughter was in love with Indie, I showed her how to the throw the ball into the river for fetch, Indie is now in love with her too. Sadly, they were leaving today.

I stopped at two visitor centers today, one in Pocatello and one in Lava Hot Springs. You would think they would be up to date on what is good/bad, open/closed. I have now learned to not take advice or the recommendations for anything from visitor centers. Also, double check the advice you get, it’s likely to be wrong. But they have some good maps. I went to two campsites today based on recommendations from visitor centers, one was closed for the season and one will never open again.

So they have this incredible multi-pool system, multi-temperature hot spring and it only costs $5, so I did a soak before dinner, so sweet, so relaxing. Tomorrow I’ll head up to Pocatello, get zapped and come back and do another day of soaking, of course if I can drive, I like this town, although a few things are closed for the season, but there are hardly any tourists.

Wanted to share this picture of a trailer, that could fit four of my trailers inside, plus he has so much stuff he had to pull another trailer behind, only in Idaho. note -- there were only two people in the truck.
