New name for the Bambi

We woke up early and left for Pocatello to visit with Dr Jones, he dilated my eye, AGAIN, and spent some time looking around. It’s a horseshoe tear and because of the all the floaties in my eye he could not give me a 100% thumbs up. But he was ok with me continuing on my journey. I have to call him in one week to reassess my eye to determine what we should do next. You should never drive with a dilated eye, in fact there are signs in the doctor office to have someone drive for you if you eyes are dilated. I asked Indie if he wanted to drive, he said no, so I had no other choice, but you should not do this at home, it's for professionals only!

So we drove back to Lava and packed up my wet muddy trailer and all its wet muddy contents and off we headed to Utah. Indie seems pretty trashed from our hikes yesterday, I had to bribe him to come out of the camper for the trip to the doctor. He slept for most of the day as we traveled.

We went through Salt Lake City and Provo and ended in Nephi, which is in Central Utah. The drive south with the huge mountains to the east was so cool, one of the best drives I have every been on in the US. We found an interesting campsite called High Country RV Camp. I found a nice place where I could set up and dry and un-mud my stuff and vacuum the trailer. I was able to do a load of muddy laundry so we are getting back to normal. There was an awesome sunset tonight as I cooked chicken on the BBQ and drank some wine. This place seems to be a main stopping point for travelers, I met people going east/west/north/south. I’m no longer the smallest trailer in the park, there is a 70 year women pulling a tent trailer camping here, she is a retired school teacher. But walking around the rest of the place felt like walking in downtown NY, all these huge mobile RV’s, the ones you drive and that look like a tour bus all pulling their cars. What is amazing is there are only 2 people per huge mobile RV. Its great to watch them set up with hydralic jacks, one camper had their front wheels off the ground.

Today was such a nice day to travel, it was sunny and warm, even had the AC on for period of time. Salt Lake City has so much construction it felt like I was driving a F1 circuit at times. Its 60+ degrees and it will be a nice sleeping night tonight. Although my quads are still aching from yesterdays climb, I’m guessing Indie is happy to be in bed and sleeping too. I hope he is having fun.

I’m still happy with my trailer since I can move around so much easier then these big rigs. So my Airstream trailer is called a Bambi, now this is named by Airstream, not me, and it has this rather large plaque next to the door that says “Bambi”. Now a man and his male dog traveling in a trailer that is named after a stripper/Disney character is a bit creepie. So I’m trying to think of a new name and stopping in Arizona to have a new name plate made. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears.
